I’m an evolutionary biologist and toxinologist with a particular interest in herpetofauna. I explore questions surrounding venom evolution by integrating ecology and natural history with proteomics, bioactivity and immunogenicity assays, and transcriptomics. I characterise venom activity using model physiological systems such as in-vitro blood, somatic cells, and the nervous system, and I look at the ability of antivenoms to neutralise these effects.
