(Corvallis, Oregon, USA)
I am a PhD candidate in Anne Jolles’ Disease Ecology Lab and James Watson’s Socio-Environmental Analysis Lab at Oregon State University. I am a field biologist and data scientist, with research interests in social ecological systems, animal movement, and wetland ecology. For my PhD, I am using network analytic tools to understand properties of wildlife and human-wildlife collectives, through a lens of disease spread and conservation.
One of my goals is to learn how to promote scientific contributions from traditionally under-represented groups in STEM. I work towards this goal through campus activism, learning how to be an ally for people with minoritized identities, and exploring how to hold units accountable for symbolic commitments to diversity and inclusion.
